It’s all like music, the way the events, emotions, and landscapes, write themselves in a colorful symphony of letters and words that devour our senses, so that we exhibit synesthesia, unable to distinguish sight from sound, or taste from touch.

A surge of overlapping colliding stimuli. Science calls it positive interference, the phenomenon where waves crash into each other, producing an exponential tide that provides an artistic whiplash that is its own therapy.

That’s the magical mayhem of the inked wand or the lettered keys. The ability to light up a page and make Kindles and Nooks breathe.

Right in front of our weary eyes and our flailing hearts. From cardiac arrest to revival, by the coerced rhythmic pumping of inexorably beautiful imaginations that flood every fiber of our desires, with verses that flow like unhindered tributaries to the farthest reaches of our beings.

Retching from our souls the contents of every possible emotion that time has seen or imagined. Leaving us exhausted, rejuvenated and fulfilled all at once.

And with fists raised above our heads in salute, we shout, “Write on brother! Write on sister! Write on!
